Truth…

“Truth” Does truth change with the times? Do facts become fiction in different climes? Beliefs may sway and change their way, But what’s set in stone becomes bone of my bone… Stand with me, be brave, and take it to the grave! ~May Lyn 2012

Does truth change with the times?
Do facts become fiction in different climes?
Beliefs may sway and change their way, But what’s set in stone becomes bone of my bone…
Stand with me, be brave, and take it to the grave! ~PMCBurkey 2012

This Culture of Death…

This culture of death takes away my breath. What must it do to God? I’ve no clue! How do we start to save a heart? May God give us grace to run this race, and save a life in this world of strife! ~May Lyn 2012 Sent from my Verizon Wireless Phone

This culture of death
takes away my breath.
What must it do
to God? I’ve no clue!
How do we start
to save a heart?
May God give us grace
to run this race,
and save a life
in this world of strife!

Hope…

“Hope is the anchor of our souls. An anchor holds us back and grounds us. Without an anchor we are adrift & afloat…drifting on a vast ocean of indecision…vunerable to wrong choices. Is hope the anchor on the end of your rope?” ~May Lyn 2012

Diamond Cave, Kentucky…

Saw Diamond Cave, KY. This one is now my favorite. It has steep steps, narrow passageways, formations & surfaces not seen in others yet. This one is more rustic, almost like you’re seeing it close to its discovery era!

Lost River Cave, Bowling Green, KY…is entered by boat on the Lost River. Not many stalagtites (just some soda straws) cause every once in a while the cave floods to the ceiling and the rushing river removes them! The underground nightclub ceased in the 1960s due to jealousy of above ground clubs. They paid off city officials and a law was passed to stop the sale of liquor below the streets! Dances and weddings are still held in the ballroom at the entrance to the river cave. The surrounding river valley park has many hiking trails and blue holes. An awesome adventure!

Saw some of Mammoth Cave, Kentucky. It has 392 miles of explored cavern passageways and 14 different tours. We did two different tours on two different days. You can’t imagine the enormous rooms underground. It’s like being in the Grand Canyon with a roof on it. And yet in other parts of the cave we experienced the narrowest, winding passages and lowest ceilings yet…almost a knee crawl. And still haven’t seen it all! It’s an exciting national park to enjoy!

The story of the death of Sir Walter Scott illustrates this. When dying, Scott, the possessor of a great library, called to his son: “Bring me the book!” “Which book,” asked the son. Sir Walter Scott replied, “There is only ‘one’ book, it is the Bible.” The importance of the Bible is recorded in a poem he had written…

“Within that awful volume lies
The mystery of mysteries!
Happiest they of the human race
To whom their God has granted grace
To read, to fear, to hope, to pray,
To lift the latch, and force the way;
And better had they ne’er been born
Who read to doubt, or read to scorn.”
