Have you ever considered how beautiful death and dying can be?
On the drive to fellowship, I was noticing the trees adorned in their Autumn leaf splendor…the awesome colors of their death and dying! It struck me that death has a beautiful side.
From where we dwell, we view death from the dark/black side (the absence of color).
I believe our God sees the believer’s death portrait from the light/white side (the presence of all color). “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” Psalm 116:15
Consider the death of a seed and our ‘new life’…
John 12:24…”Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.”
1 Corinthians 15:35-38…”But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.”
Romans 6:3-11…”Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
1 Corinthians 15:42, 49…”So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.”
Thank You, Lord, for the new life now, and when I see You face to face…Amen.
