The majority of Christians believe the Lord jesus Christ has not fulfilled His plans and come with His Kingdom like He said He would back in the first century…

Consider the mindset of most Christians…”Why polish the brass on a sinking ship?”

Now consider the little book of Haggai…“Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying: ‘This people says, “The time has not come, the time that the LORD’s house should be built.” Then the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet, saying, “Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins?”

Now therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways! You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink; You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, earns wages to put into a bag with holes.”

Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways! Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified,” says the LORD.

You looked for much, but indeed it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?” says the LORD of hosts. “Because of My house that is in ruins, while every one of you runs to his own house.” “For I called for a drought on the land and on whatever the ground brings forth, on men and livestock, and on all the labor of your hands.”

Then the people feared the presence of the LORD. Then Haggai, the LORD’s messenger, spoke the LORD’s message to the people, saying, “I am with you, says the LORD.”

Then the Lord stirred up the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the LORD of hosts, their God. “The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,” says the LORD of hosts. Haggai 1:2-2:9

Of course the people left off obeying God again. They didn’t receive Jesus Christ as their Messiah, and as we know, that second temple was brought down.

Wouldn’t realizing the glorious House of God is now Spiritual bring peace and the desire to work for His Kingdom now here on the earth? His Kingdom is eternal and is expanded by sharing the eternal Gospel. Of course you would say, “But we do evangelize.” But do we do it with the full assurance of having taken Jesus at His Word back in the first century? And are we at peace knowing we’re not looking for an escape route/rapture out of here? With that mindset, why would anyone want to be a part of His Kingdom wondering if they are truly His or not? Do new ‘Christians’ today have full assurance and peace?

Would God want to give us His blessings and all our hearts’ desires knowing most of us don’t really believe what He said in His Word? Are we really One in Him?
